In France, 83% of citizens view climate change as a major threat, although an unusually high proportion (20%) think it is already too late to stop the worst effects. The second largest country by area, Canada is starting to feel a range of climate change effects. ICE’s Brunel Lecture series highlighted the Middle East region’s move towards net zero infrastructure. Dr Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, cabinet member and minister of climate change and environment of the United Arab Emirates, said that the shift to green building was very much needed in the region, and it was up to engineers to drive it.
