COP30 Building with Nature: A Global Community Advancing Green-Gray Infrastructure for Resilient Adaptation
14 November, 2025 @ 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm BRT
The session “Building with Nature: A Global Community Advancing Green-Gray Infrastructure for Resilient Adaptation” brings together practitioners, scientists, and policy leaders to explore how hybrid (green-gray) infrastructure can accelerate climate adaptation worldwide. Held at the DRI Pavilion during COP30, the event showcases global insights, from cutting-edge science to national policy shifts and on-the-ground engineering, while highlighting the role of the Global Green-Gray Community of Practice in connecting experts, sharing lessons, and scaling nature-positive solutions.
Savina Carluccio, Executive Director of ICSI, will speak about how nature-positive engineering can move from concept to practice by redefining infrastructure to work with nature, overcoming systemic barriers, and accelerating adoption through shared learning, enabling policies, and communities of practice.
Speakers:
- Savina Carluccio, International Coalition for Sustainable Infrastructure (ICSI)
- Dr. Michael W. Beck, Center for Coastal Climate Resilience, UC Santa Cruz
- Erick Aeck, Managing Director for Brazil, Van Oord
- Gehnyea Yai Gbeanquoi, Ministry of Public Works, Liberia
This session is hosted by Conservation International.
