Following the endorsement of the European Forum for Disaster Risk Reduction (EFDRR)  Roadmap 2021-2030 at the 2021 EFDRR in Matosinhos, Portugal, a first concrete action will consist in a series of multilateral action oriented dialogues led by governments, in partnership with UNDRR. These events aim to facilitate experience sharing among stakeholders, including local governments and developing adapted policy guidance addressing pressing disaster risk reduction-related issues.

In this context, we are pleased to inform you that the first two action oriented dialogues will be organized in October 2022:

The first action-oriented dialogue “Inclusive and collaborative systems for heat and wildfire risks governance” is hosted by the Government of Greece and will take place on 21 October 2022 in in Athens, Greece. The event will feature three technical sessions focusing on climate change scenarios and projections, local level resilience and urban heat vulnerabilities. For more details kindly consult event page . We encourage you to attend the session “Bridging the gap between national and local resilience policies “ scheduled on 21 October at 11h. This session aims to answer how national governments can best support and encourage local governments to address climate change, adapt to extreme temperatures and heat waves and put in place local resilience plans and policies. The second action-oriented dialogue “Investing in Disaster Risk Reduction in the South Eastern Europe” is hosted by the Government of Croatia and will be held in Dubrovnik 25-27 October 2022. Beside the high-level discussion, the 3-day event will feature a number of sessions and workshops focusing on DRR investments and risk sensitive financing.
