We’re excited to announce that George M. Karagiannis, PhD, CEM®, Director of Risk and Resilience at ICSI, and Emma Pearlstone, Strategic Partnerships Manager for Mobile for Humanitarian Innovation at the GSMA, will be speaking at the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) Virtual Conference 2025.

They will present ICSI’s work on early warning systems, drawing from the Lloyd’s Register Foundation World Risk Poll, a biennial, global risk perception survey administered in upwards of 140 countries. They will explore how the preferred and most trusted warning information sources and communications pathways vary across the world, and investigate which demographic, cultural, socio-economic, and experiential factors affect the selection of and trust in warning information sources.
