Scaling up adaptation finance: a dialogue between engineers and insurers

26 June @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am BST

There is an urgent need to unlock funding for equitable, sustainable and resilient infrastructure across the globe and to prioritise infrastructure that delivers positive outcomes for people and the planet.

The International Coalition for Sustainable Infrastructure (ICSI), the Global Covenant of Mayors (GCoM), and the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) are convening a series of roundtable discussions focused on scaling up adaptation finance in infrastructure and aimed at bridging the gap between the engineering community and key decision-makers in adaptation financing.

At London Climate Action Week, international climate leaders from the engineering and insurance communities will come together to share their perspectives on de-risking investment in adaptation and resilience and discuss how they could collaborate to remove blockers. The discussion will explore challenges and best practices in assessing, quantifying and communicating risks and returns, and identify tangible, near-term actions to scale up adaptation finance through working together.

While the focus of the roundtable will primarily be on adaptation finance, the discussions will also explore strategies for ensuring a more systemic approach to addressing the global climate transition.

This is an invite only event.
