How can we better integrate biodiversity considerations throughout the lifecycle of climate-resilient infrastructure?

This interactive workshop will share emerging work from the SYMBIOSIS project and invite participants to explore practical approaches to choosing nature-based interventions, improving biodiversity monitoring and embedding biodiversity into infrastructure decision-making. Through presentations and interactive discussions, participants will help test and refine approaches that can support biodiversity from planning and implementation through to monitoring and long-term governance.

Shipping a Healthy Planet: How the Maritime Sector Can Accelerate Climate and Ocean Action at Climate Week NYC

Shipping and ports are critical to the global economy, but the sector also has a major role to play in addressing the interconnected challenges facing our climate and ocean.

This session will bring together leaders from across the maritime sector and beyond to explore how shipping can accelerate climate and ocean action. The discussion will look at opportunities for greater collaboration and practical action across decarbonisation, ocean health and resilience, and how the sector can contribute to a healthier, more sustainable ocean.

How can nature-positive engineering move from an emerging approach to standard practice across infrastructure?

One year after the launch of the Nature-Positive Engineering Foresight Review, this panel will bring together leaders from engineering, conservation, finance and academia to explore what needs to change. The conversation will focus on creating the right enabling environment, strengthening technical skills and evidence, and building the partnerships needed to embed nature-positive approaches in infrastructure planning, design and delivery worldwide.
